In the fall of 2022, AlexRenew launched a partnership with PromisePay to offer flexible payment plans to our customers with past-due bills. PromisePay will connect directly with customers who are behind in their payments to help those customers reduce past-due bills.

PromisePay is also working with Virginia Department of Social Services to Distribute LIHWAP Funds across Virginia. 

The Low-Income Household Water Assistance Program (LIHWAP) is a temporary federally funded program administered by the Virginia Department of Social Services (DSS) to assist low-income households across Virginia with drinking water and wastewater bills. Promise also partnered with the DSS to distribute LIHWAP funds to eligible residential customers, which includes AlexRenew’s customers. LIHWAP relief will be available to eligible Virginia residents until funds are depleted. Once they have been used, there is still the potential for the funds to be replenished, so contact Virginia DSS for the most updated information.
